Everyone one has a signature fragrance–maybe several. Whether it’s from perfume, lotion, shampoo, or from the onions you peeled for tonight’s dinner…your signature fragrance is what most intimately personifies you.
Out of the five senses, our sense of smell is the only one that takes a short cut to our brain, instead of traveling the long way from our spinal cord.
The part of our brain that scents go to also happens to store our precious memories and emotions, which is why we can have such strong reactions to certain fragrances.
As I worked on my last post on Pre-1900’s Beauty Products, I stumbled upon many mentions of signature fragrances of famous dames that I just had to share.
I also included the signature fragrances of some my favorite vintage bloggers simply because I’m nosy, and I asked around in Twitter. =)
