Since I started to use clothespins to keep my crackers fresh and my pasta in its bag, I’ve been searching for new ways to use the simple clip for other everyday household needs. Here are some of the best idea’s I found:
1. Secure the trash bag
I’ve been using this one for a while since trash bags sliding down the trash can is one of my biggest pet peeves. For this job, however, you’ll want to use a bigger clothespin with a strong grip. Plastic clothespins work best for me.
2. Close the curtain
Use a pin to keep curtains closed.
3. Quick apron or bib
Use the clothespin to clip a towel around baby as a bib or a table cloth around yourself as an apron.
4. Keep a dish towel handy
Use it to clip a dish towel to your apron.
5. Table cloth holder
Use the pin to secure corners of the table cloth when dining outdoors.
6. To label appliance cords
Write the appliance on the pin and clip it to the cord.
7. Pin skirts
Use the pins to help secure your skirts on a regular hanger.
8. Hang your scarves
Similar to hanging skirts on regular hangers, clip scarves to hangers to help keep them organized and wrinkle free.
9. Stop the spoon from disappearing
Clip your mixing spoon to the side of the bowl to prevent it from sliding into the mixing bowl.
10. Organize your shopping trip
Clip your coupons to the store ads so you’ll be ready for your next shopping trip.
11. Build a fort
Use to clip the sheets together when building a fort for the rascals.
